WinterCamp 2022 edition: Explore the mountains in winter!
A powerful dose of knowledge, fantastic people and a time of great fun. Traditionally on Turbacz in the Gorce Mountains at the end of January and beginning of February 2022 WinterCamp training bivouacs will be held – both an adult edition and two family editions. For mountain lovers, it is an excellent chance to acquire new skills or improve existing ones, as always meet inspiring personalities, and above all have fun.
WinterCamp – an event with traditions
The first WinterCamp was held in 2010, attended by about 70 people. For twelve years, more than 2,500 people have received training in camping, selecting mountain equipment, ice climbing or first aid in the mountains. Every year WinterCamp brings together not only novice mountain hikers, but also Himalayan climbers, mountaineers, travelers and supporters of the event.

Substantive firecracker
Participants in the camping for adults and teens aged 14 and older – WinterCamp 2.0, which will take place January 27-30, 2022, will live in tents near the shelter under Turbacz in the heart of the Gorce National Park, with a spectacular view of the Tatra Mountains.
Taking into account the needs of adepts of winter mountain adventure, the organizers offer training, depending on the chosen date: survival with camping and moving in winter conditions, avalanche ABC, skydiving, cross-country skiing and climbing workshops on a specially prepared ice wall! The instructors are professionals – mountain rescuers, travelers, Himalayists and POG instructors.

The organization of specialized training is made possible, among other things, thanks to the support of many partners, which include companies such as PETZL, Ortovox, Majesty, Pajak, Mitsubishi Motors and Coleman.

A family evenement
Enjoying increasing popularity, the WinterCamp Family editions are a unique family gathering in an atmospheric mountain lodge, during which kids marvel at the inspiring new winter weather, and parents can put into practice the knowledge gained. These are meetings seen as forums for active families to exchange experiences with parenting, communication or inspirational workshops. Due to the different dates of winter holidays, the organizers decided to implement two editions in the coming season on the dates of 23-27.01 i 31.01-04.02. In order to train in a comfortable environment, organizers have moved away from weekend events by moving training to the middle of the week.

Tales from the roof of the world
An integral part of WinterCamp bivouacs are evening meetings with travelers, held in a unique, intimate atmosphere. Over the years, guests at the bivouac have included m.in. Himalayan climbers: Adam Bielecki, Krzysztof Wielicki, Kacper Tekieli, Janusz Golab, or leading mountain runner Piotr Hercog. This year will host, among others, Kamila Kielar, Piotr Pustelnik and Ćukasz Supergan, names belonging to the most important figures of the Polish mountain environment.
People first and foremost
Above all, however, WinterCamp is a great opportunity to meet mountain hiking enthusiasts and find friends for life. In the program of the bivouac, in addition to common activities and lectures, there are planned meetings and integration games, bonfires, or singing by the guitar.
